The Canadian Voyageur Canoe Adventure is BACK!

Experience life in the past!
Voyageurs were French Canadian settlers who engaged in the transportation of furs by canoe during the fur trade years (primarily in the 18th and early 19th centuries).
Paddling 34-foot canoes that were made from the bark of large birch trees stretched over a white cedar frame, these heroes were regarded as legendary and have a fascinating story of folklore and music. Come experience a Voyageur paddle adventure!
Departing from the Boathouse, visitors will paddle replicas of the full size voyageur canoes with experienced guides in voyageur costume.
Your tour will feature a lively exploration of nearby islands and river pathways, with a focus on the historical aspects of river life and travel by Indigenous peoples as well as early European settlers.
The "gouvernail" (instructors and guides) will give paddling instruction, share historical information about the construction of the Voyageur Canoe and animate historical tales with stories and secrets of River life centuries ago.
At its own discretion, and for any reason including weather, the Museum reserves the right to cancel any trip, and issue refunds.
